  • Half cup of sugar(preferably white)

  • 2 and ½ cup of flour

  • 3 cups of strawberries(preferably fresh)

    Before preparing the cake batter it is important to prepare the strawberries. First cut the strawberries into thin slices and ½ cup of sugar. Now keep the strawberries aside. Now preheat the oven to a temperature of 425 degrees or 220 degree centigrade. To make the cake batter you have to mix well the shortening, flour, sugar and salt in a medium sized bowl. Now pour the mixture in a greased 8inch greased pan. In a separate bowl mix the milk and egg well with a blender. Now make a well in the batter and pour the milk and egg mixture in the center of the batter. Stir the batter well once again. The better the cake is beaten the softer it will be. Then the pan should be put in the oven for baking for approximately 20 minutes.
    Remove the cake from the oven when golden brown. Allow it to cool. Once cool cut the cake into two layers. If you try to cut the cake when still warm, it will break. Now spread half of the strawberries between the two layers of cake. Spread the rest of the strawberries on the top. Finally finish the dressing with a layer on whipped cream on the top. Your birthday girl/boy will love it.
